The meeting started at 9:08 am
Deeds were signed
1. Mr. John DeVito said he has received calls from other directors wanting to know how we arrived at the numbers. He stated that Mt. Pleasant is double/triple other towns. Teresa explained the analysis. Mr. DeVito stated we should raise the cost of the new graves and put more money into perpetual care. Michele Hassler would like to hear from the other concerned parties. Frank Hurd invited Mr. DeVito back after he reviews the numbers.
2. Mr. DeVito inquired as to whether we could build a crematory or use the Chapel as a columbarium for extra revenue.
3. Mr. DeVito left at 10:15 and Teresa DeBenedictis left at 10:27
4. Commissioners reviewed the letter from the Treasurer’s office and discussed Lot # U-263. Karen Bogosian, deed holder, stated that the family has relocated to Rockport and there would be no need for the graves. Per the Commissioners, offer her $261 for each grave, of which there are 5. She will not move the stone and replace it with a smaller one.
5. Frank Hurd distributed grant documentation for the Old Burying Ground.
