PRESENT: Commissioners: Bernard Smith, Michele Hassler, Frank Hurd, Teresa DeBenedictis, Acting Director of Public Works, Jim Dodge, Operations Manager of Public Works and Charles Zuccala, Acting Supervisor, John DeVito, DeVito FH, and Cary Coglianese, Boy Scout Troop 306
The meeting started at 9:05 am
1. Cary Goglianese is requesting permission for Nick Adams, Eagle Scout, be allowed to work on the Vietnam Memorial changes. He will be working with Dennis Corbett and Steve Carlson to redesign the memorial site. A brick path with additional bushes would surround the monument. Bushes will not be on existing graves and should be low maintenance. Donations will provide the funding for the project, which will include labor. Plans to be submitted by April meeting for completion of project by May 21, 2007. Approved by Commissioners. Cary Coglianese left at 9:20.
2. February minutes were approved and 3 Deeds were signed.
3. John DeVito came to express his concern about the rate hikes. He presented a new version of the cemetery cost analysis. His input was again appreciated. Mr. DeVito left at 10:02.
4. Fees were discussed. Approval to reduce Saturday fee to $800 was made, a reduction of $200.00 and will be effective April 2, 2007. No refunds will be given for prior burials. Also approved was the yearly review of the fees. Fees will be reviewed in June to be effective in July. Jean will send out a letter to the Funeral Directors with a copy sent to the Town Manager and other attending parties.
5. Teresa DeBenedictis and James Dodge left at 10:32.
6. Castellon ownership letter approved. Send letter stating she should attempt to find the heirs.
7. Donovan ownership letter approved. Send letter of approval.
8. Topographix letter discussed regarding website domain for Cemetery. Frank will look into it further.
