Meeting Minutes 08/09/2007
PRESENT:        Commissioners:  Bernard Smith, Michele Hassler and Frank Hurd, John Maher, Town Counsel, Jim Dodge, Operations Manager of DPW, Charles Zuccala, Acting Cemetery Supervisor, Mr. Berberian and Mr. John Sefton

The meeting started at 9:03am
Minutes from July 12, 2007 were approved and 4 deeds were signed.
1.      Approval was given to Mr. Sefton to place a 2 x 1 upright headstone at             Lot# L-703.
2.      Mr. Berberian addressed the Cemetery Commissioners once again about the shrubbery and roots behind the burial site of his son in EE-600.  He is requesting that the site be loamed and seeded.  The Commissioners stated that additional work has been done to the area and loaming and seeding is not possible because of boundary line and not accessible to mower.  Mr. Berberian stated he had a meeting with Mr. Bean, Director of Public Works about the condition of the Chapel.  He wondered if the town inspector knows about the condition of the Chapel and the garage area.
3.      John Maher will review the deed and make recommendations for transfer of ownership.  An update was given about the buyback program and sites will be evaluated soon.
4.      The Marchese request for a 2 x 1 upright was approved.
5.      The Vietnam Monument area is in need of pruning.  Steve Carlson and         Dennis Corbett have been notified.
6.      An email was reviewed regarding concern for people driving over/parking in the EE section.  We discussed options to try to deter this longstanding problem and decided to try reflectors first.  Fill in the HH holes with the intention of reopening in the fall.

Meeting Adjourned at 10:37am and next meeting is scheduled for September 13, 2007
Respectfully Submitted,

Jean Smith
