THE MINUTES OF THE ARLINGTON CEMETERY COMMISSION
April 10, 2008

PRESENT:        Commissioners Bernard Smith, Michele Hassler and  William McCarthy, Charles Zuccala, Acting Cemetery Supervisor

The meeting started at 9:10am

Seven (7) deeds were signed.

Charles Zuccala started the meeting by stating what the private landscapers will be doing and that the cemetery crew is not to assist.  The Commissioners questioned how the shrubs were going to be done by Memorial Day if the landscapers are not scheduled to cut them till July or August.  The cemetery crew has been working on winter graves and plow damage.

Carol Lawton joined the meeting at 9:20 to talk ask permission for a flat marker at T-151.  The Commissioners denied the request in March and told her there is room on the headstone for the names and no permission is granted for a flat marker.

The Commissioners approved the buyback of graves 4, 5, and 6 of Lot # U-263 for $1800.00.  They will be sold as single graves and flat marker only.
Rate changes will be discussed at the May meeting with the emphasis being on the graves in the old section that can be made available.
Executive session called at 10:06.

Commissioner Smith left at 10:45 and meeting resumed at 10:55.  Jean will contact Topographix to get a new quote for the database and mapping.

Commissioner Hassler will check into the RFP for Cooke’s Hollow.  Kevin Duffy will proceed with next step for stone restoration.  Someone will be documenting each stone at the Old Burying Ground.

Minutes from March approved and next meeting is May 8, 2008.  Meeting adjourned at 11:30am.

Respectfully Submitted
Jean Smith, Sr. Clerk
