Present: Commissioners Michele Hassler, Bill McCarthy, Jason Jones, Acting Cemetery Supervisor and Steve Gilligan, Treasurer
The meeting began at 9:05 a.m.
Steve Gilligan was present to discuss the cemetery trust funds and the process of releasing the funds. There are 100 accounts within the Town of Arlington. The Chief Procurement Officer is the Town Manager. If reason no longer exists, court process can break the trust. Steve Gilligan will be generating a 3-5-10 year report on his recommendations of how much money we can spend with an agreement not to spend the principal. There will be a Trust Fund Committee meeting on January 22, 2009. Some suggestions for trust fund money would be gps system for the graves, computer database upgrade and Cooke’s Hollow. The Commissioners would notify Steve of the need for money and an expense account would be set-up. The Cemetery Commissioners need to vote on all money spent out of trust funds. Check with David
Goode, the new IT director about the GPS system. Check minutes to see when last allocation of $150,000 was voted on.
Steve left at 9:50 and it was voted to finish business when Bernie Smith could attend the meeting.
