Minutes 05/14/2009
Present:  Commissioners Michele Hassler and William McCarthy, Operations Mgr of DPW, Jim Dodge and Acting Supervisor, Jason Jones
               
The meeting began at 9:15 a.m.
1.      Deeds were signed.
2.      Minutes were approved from March and April’s meeting.
3.      Discussed the possibility of not doing disinterments after a certain length of time.
The last one was difficult and the quality of the 4c box was an issue.
4.      Cemetery gates will close at 5am for Memorial Day and will not reopen till around noon.
5.      Bushes will be trimmed, if needed, by the cemetery staff.  Request of $5,000 yearly will be asked of the Town Manager for grub and broadleaf control.  
6.      Two stones, Smith and Tufts, at the Old Burying Ground, will be fixed by
Kevin Duffy.   The Hawkins stone will be discussed again after Memorial Day.
7.      Fees will be reviewed in June, with emphasis on Mock burials, disinterment and bush removal.
8.      Bill will forward information on the removal of the flags.
9.      Linda Acone will be allowed granite urns after the removal of bushes at S-64.
10.     Cooke’s Hollow RFP’s have been narrowed down to 4.  They will make a presentation on June 4, 2009 and bids will be opened.  Michele stated there were some great ideas.
