The Arlington Board of Selectmen is pleased to announce the winners for the 200th Anniversary Year Town Awards that will be presented to citizens and employees who have made outstanding contributions to the enrichment and advancement of the Town of Arlington.
And the winners are…
The Robbins Award for significant contributions in the area of social, cultural, educational, political or philanthropic service will be presented to Dr. Robert Carey and Richard Duffy.
The Cyrus Dallin Award for outstanding and meritorious service in the area of education, art, culture or philanthropy will be presented to James P. McGough and Geraldine G. Tremblay.
The Samuel Wilson Award for considerable contributions in the area of patriotism, business or government will be posthumously awarded to
Joseph G. Keeffe Sr. and Edmund R. Mahoney.
The Joseph P. Greeley Award for Town employees that have demonstrated continuous and outstanding public service above and beyond the call of duty will be presented to Donald Boudreau, James Dodge, Maryann Orlando-O’Brien and Pasquale Tassone.
The Good Citizen Award for outstanding volunteer service will be presented to the Transportation Advisory Committee; Edward Starr, Elizabeth Carr-Jones, Jeffrey Maxtutis, Howard Muise, Scott Smith, Michael Rademacher, Lt. Paul Conroy, and Laura Wiener.
In addition, a special gift presentation will be made to past members of the Board of Selectmen.
There were several outstanding nominations received. We would like to extend a special thanks to the Awards Committee: Chair Mary DeCourcey, Sheri Baron, Dan Brosnan, George Laite and Bill Maytum for facilitating a very thorough nomination process.
All residents are invited to the ceremony which will be held on Thursday, November 29 at 7:00 p.m. in the Robbins Memorial Auditorium at Town Hall. Refreshments will be served.
