On Monday November 2, 2008 the Arlington Fire Department (AFD) will begin its annual service inspection of all fire hydrants in every neighborhood in Town. This process will last two weeks. All hydrants in Arlington will be opened, flowed, and drained of excess water. This procedure helps prevent hydrants from freezing during winter months. If you experience rusty water in your home or business the AFD advises that you run faucets until you have clean water. This is not an unsafe condition and is expected in most cases.
